Guidance Institution (Approx. 1,200 sq. meters)
The Guidance Institution is an exhibition gallery (approx. 200 sq. meters; admission fee required) that clearly demonstrates Jomon period life at the Yamada-Uenodai site through its dwelling ruins, pottery and stone tools, and a model of the reconstructed village.
In the Activity/Workshop room (can be divided into two sections; holds a maximum number of 100 people) and the Activity/Workshop space (workshop studio: holds approx. 40 people), visitors can get a firsthand experience of Jomon period wisdom through a number of workshops (additional charge required) such as Jomon pottery-making and 'Magatama' beads-making.
On the second floor there is an observatory lounge, from where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the reconstructed village. The elevator is wheelchair-accessible, so anyone can use it. Why not take a break in the lounge while contemplating what life was like 4,000 years ago?
